The Fabric Library is StyTrix's dedicated tool for AI-powered fabric and textile design. Whether you need a seamless tileable texture, a draped fashion editorial swatch, or a close-up fiber study, Fabric Library generates photorealistic fabric imagery from a structured set of visual parameters — no prompt engineering required.
This tutorial covers every option in the Fabric Library panel, from material selection to surface treatment.
How to Open Fabric Library
In the left sidebar under Universal Resources, click Fabric Library. The panel slides in from the right.
Output Size
At the top of the panel, choose from 6 aspect ratios:
| Ratio | Resolution | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 1:1 | 1024×1024 | Seamless tiles, Instagram posts |
| 2:3 | 832×1248 | Swatch cards, editorial close-ups |
| 3:4 | 896×1152 | Product pages |
| 4:3 | 1152×896 | Presentation slides |
| 16:9 | 1344×768 | Banner ads, headers |
| 9:16 | 768×1344 | Mobile stories |
Reference Image (Optional)
Drag a fabric photo from your computer or from the canvas directly into the Reference Image zone. The AI uses it as a visual anchor — useful for matching an existing material in a new colorway or pattern.
Presentation Style
Choose how the fabric is presented in the output:
| Style | Description |
|---|---|
| Seamless Tile | Perfectly tileable texture, ideal for 3D rendering or repeating backgrounds |
| Flat Swatch | Clean fabric sample, suitable for product spec sheets |
| Draped | Fabric with natural flowing folds, great for editorial use |
| Rolled | Fabric bolt display, common in supplier catalogs |
| On Garment | Fabric shown on actual clothing, perfect for visualization |
| Close-up | Extreme macro of fiber weave and texture detail |
| Folded | Neatly stacked and folded fabric, used in retail presentation |
Material & Pattern
Material Type
Select the base fabric material — 14 options including: Cotton, Silk, Wool, Linen, Polyester, Velvet, Denim, Leather, Satin, Chiffon, Canvas, Fleece, Tweed, Lace
Each material influences the AI's understanding of how light interacts with the surface (e.g. silk shows specular highlights; tweed renders as a coarse weave).
Pattern Type
Choose a surface pattern — 13 options: Solid, Stripes, Plaid, Floral, Geometric, Paisley, Polka Dots, Animal Print, Abstract, Herringbone, Houndstooth, Damask, Camo
Combine with material for compound results — e.g. Silk + Floral gives a luxury printed silk; Denim + Herringbone gives a structured denim tweed hybrid.
Color & Finish
Primary & Secondary Color
Pick from 17 color options with live color swatches. Secondary Color adds an accent or secondary tone to the pattern.
Finish
Control the surface light response:
| Finish | Effect |
|---|---|
| Matte | Flat, no sheen — ideal for cotton, canvas |
| Glossy | High shine — works for patent leather, PVC |
| Metallic | Gold/silver thread appearance |
| Shimmery | Soft iridescence — great for evening fabrics |
| Iridescent | Color-shifting holographic effect |
Texture & Weight
Texture
Describes the tactile surface feel: Smooth, Rough, Woven, Knitted, Quilted, Ribbed, Embossed, Brushed, Crinkled
Weight
Sets the fabric drape behavior visible in the output: Sheer → Lightweight → Medium → Heavy
A Heavy wool with a Draped presentation will show deep, dramatic folds. A Sheer chiffon will appear translucent with delicate ripples.
Weave Type
Fine-tunes the textile structure: Plain, Twill, Satin, Jacquard, Dobby
Surface Treatment (multi-select)
Add post-processing effects — select as many as apply: Printed, Dyed, Embroidered, Sequined, Beaded, Distressed, Bleached, Stonewashed
Generated Prompt
As you make selections, the Generated Prompt section compiles all parameters into a single AI-ready description. Example:
draped fabric with natural folds, silk fabric, floral pattern, smooth texture,
burgundy as main color, with gold accents, shimmery finish, lightweight weight,
satin weave, embroidered
This prompt is sent to the generation engine automatically. You can add Additional Details for specific scene context, mood, or extra instructions.
Workflow Tips
For Seamless Textures Use Seamless Tile presentation + 1:1 ratio. Add Woven or Knitted texture. Avoid Draped or Folded styles for tiles — they break seamlessness.
For Fashion Editorials Use Draped or On Garment presentation + 2:3 ratio. Choose a weight that matches the fabric — Sheer for chiffon, Heavy for wool.
For Material Libraries Use Flat Swatch or Close-up. 1:1 or 2:3 ratio works best. These are ideal for adding to a lookbook or spec sheet.
Combining Surface Treatments Surface Treatment is multi-select. Embroidered + Sequined creates a heavily embellished evening fabric. Distressed + Bleached gives a worn denim look.
